some people seek weight loss by eliminating all fat from their diet. Such people want to lose weight all over their body. Other people remain unconcerned about total body fat; they want to remove only the excess fat that has built-up within specific parts of the body.

The removal of fat from specific body regions is called liposuction. Doctors do not generally recommend using liposuction for weight loss. Liposuction targets fat in specific areas of the body. It is a way to achieve body sculpting.

During the first ten to fifteen years of its use, liposuction held slight appeal to the average overweight individual. Liposuction remained exclusively a cosmetic procedure. Few patients gave thought to using it for weight loss, because use of the liposuction procedure then required the anaesthetizing of the patient.

Within the past 18 to 19 years, however, the introduction of the tumescent technique has transformed the public view of liposuction. Doctors have emphasized the ability of the patient to resume everyday activities within hours of undergoing a liposuction. The doctors, most of them plastic surgeons, hoped to get more patients eager to benefit from body sculpting.

HEALTHY SKIN

(My Original Blog Post: http://www.infohealthy.net/?p=438)
images8Everyone wants clear skin. Clear skin is a key physical feature that denotes beauty and health, and people are naturally drawn to healthy looking people. A clear complexion is a great physical attribute that never goes out of style. However, there is more to this than a shallow preference for pretty people. Often skin problems denote an underlying health problem.

If you have a skin problem, it’s more than a beauty issue—it’s a health issue. Skin eruptions can mean an organ isn’t functioning properly. It could also mean a virus, infection, or food allergy. If you have problems with your skin, it’s best to get it checked out by a professional—a dermatologist who is a skin specialist. Dermatologists are qualified to diagnose all kinds of skin disorders. Because skin covers the entire body, skin disorders also include disorders related to the scalp (hair) and nails. So if you are having problems with thinning hair or brittle nails, the dermatologist can diagnose these as well.

Once you have figured out the culprit responsible for your dermatological problems, how to best treat it is your decision. If you do a little research, you may find that herbal cures are just as effective as traditional medicine, less expensive, and have fewer side effects. If you decide to go this route, you will find that herbs not only have medicinal value, but nutritional value as well.

Some great herbs for general skin health are kelp, alfalfa, and parsley. Kelp is a natural source of iron and iodine. These nutrients help regulate the thyroid which helps fight germs and bacteria. Alfalfa boosts the immune system due to its concentration of calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and sodium. Parsley is much more than a garnish. It’s high in vitamins A, B, and C.

images4Want to lose some pounds?

Try a spoonful of sugar

It sounds too good to be true, but a sprinkling of sugar may actually help you lose excess weight, according to a study carried out by researchers at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh.

This is the first study to challenge the conventional view that sugar should be avoided at all costs when trying to lose weight.
The researchers asked 69 overweight women to follow four different diet and exercise programmes over a 12-week period. The first group were asked to follow a low-fat high-carbohydrate diet including sugar-containing cereal bars. Around one tenth of their diet was sugar (sucrose), which is about the same as an average adult in the UK. They also took daily exercise.

A durian is a fruit with a strong smell. Many people do not like the smell, but its flavour is loved by some people, especially in Southeast Asia. Its flavour has been compared to custard.

Durian is large spikey fruit with a sulfuric smell. Almost everyone finds this fruit either repulsive or addictive. Few fall in between. Durian is rare in that it is a significant source of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins.

In Thailand, Durian is banned from many public areas because of the smell. Thailand's Ministry of Health warns against eating more than two sections of durian per day, as people have occasionally been known to die from excessive durian intake. People are killed every year by durians falling from trees.
